Hello everybody,just thought i would mention that the songs are all written,and I have been in the studios recording the basic melodies and putting rough vocals down,ready for the new c d...Well,it's still difficult to get "live" work,as it always was. I suppose I can't blame club organisers for sticking with tried and tested acts,but unless they take a chance sometimes and book unknown acts,then where the heck are the singers ever going to get the chance to show what they can do ?I am hoping to showcase at "Americana "in Nottingham this summer,perhaps that will bring in some trade...I hope so anyway.......I have to pay for the recordings somehow !

On a lighter note,I have come up with one or two "beatier"--and meatier -songs for this one,and I would hope that those who like a stronger flavour to their songs will enjoy these offerings....and there is another song that sort of wrote itself,and ,try as i might to NOT sing it like the man in black,no matter how I tried to do it....well,it just came out the way it has,so all I can say is that it is,if you like,a sort of tribute to HIS  style of song........you will see what I mean when you hear it.........

While I am at this,I may as well admit that my type of country songwriting  is firmly rooted in the  traditional  sense.  By that,I mean that there will almost always be a storyline,a tale of  conflicts past and present,romance,life,living,emotions............not quite the "bbbbBilly be bad" kind of number so loved by line dancing fans. Not,I hasten to add,that I have any problem or case against the line dancing fraternity,--far from it,country clubs were slowly going down in numbers until the  dance craze swept it all to the forefront again,it has to be admitted.  What I am trying to convey is that  I  just don't  write that way. I try to just shine a light on various emotions....love..hate..loneliness...happiness...problems  that arise in everyones lives....and not just be a supplier of a certain beat and ignore --to me--what the whole purpose of a song is about !.....so there..Iv'e said it.....a bit "heavy" i know,but I just wanted to say it plain...... 

On yet another tack,I hope to have a short bit of film for you to watch on the site soon,doing a song "live" as it were. --Hope you like it.(..and I also hope it may catch the attention of club booking managers too if I'm honest )...---I am still looking for a reputable publisher by the way---and I am thinking more and more about being managed, I say this ,because trying to promote myself,contacting all and sundry,"pushing " the c d's etc all take up time . Time that i would much prefer to be spent writing.
